Abstract

The judiciary is responsible for resolving issues of law and has an important role in society. Considering the independence of the three powers, the judges can receive administrative activities at the same time. The present study aims to observe the relationship between the perception of the judiciary collaborators of state of Amazonas about the management role exercised by the magistrate and the performance of these judicial units. In order to achieve this objective, a statistical correspondence was sought between productivity variables and those related to the work environment of the judicial unit and its management (judicial administration). A questionnaire was used as a research tool and applied to all 20 notaries of the courts of the civil jurisdiction of Manaus, obtaining 85 responses from 13 notaries, representing a 30% adherence rate of respondents in 65% of notaries. The results show the relationship between higher productivity and (1) management exercised primarily by the magistrate, (2) use of information system (SAJ), and (3) no indication of "stability" as a greater motivation.
