Abstract

Considering the diversity of possible solutions for automation of activities of the law area in the offices, offices and law firms, this work is restricted to evaluate the use of ontologies applied in computational systems, associated with artificial intelligence techniques. Also discussed are questions about law, a discipline that essentially deals with issues of life in society, about what is permitted, mandatory or prohibited, and about the penalties associated with each violation of the rules. In this sense, the adoption of an ontology and computational systems that automate information processing, to be applied to legal cases, need to consider, in addition to the rule (law, jurisprudence), life itself in society and relationships between people.
