Abstract

The aim of this study was to understand how the systemic approach can contribute to the adoption of people to the Personal Health Record (PHR). The method chosen was the Integrative Systematic Literature Review, and to gather information about the PHR, searches were done in the PubMed portal and in the Medline, Lilacs and Scopus databases. From the analysis of the selected articles, it was possible to conclude that the major barriers to the adoption and continuous use of PHR refer to usability, accessibility and security and privacy issues. The study was limited to the PHR study, which did not include the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and the Electronic Patient Record (PEP), focusing on the patient as the main user, seeking to identify the barriers that prevent patients from adhering to PHR . No specific PHR system was also analyzed.
