Abstract

The paper sets out some of the main reasons why the use of artificial intelligence programmes in the jurists' own sphere of action is possible, provided that the legal principles of the rule of law are respected in its design and use. In order to reach this conclusion, the functional characteristics of several existing programmes are examined, the possibilities offered for its implementation and development by the expansion of the use of the programs of automated management of the administration of justice through the progressive implantation of the "electronic court records system", and the regulations establishing a prohibition on the taking of automated decisions on matters involving persons.
