Abstract
Employing the deductive method, firstly exposes the contributions of the Internet of Things (IoT) when intended for environmental and urban planning, specifically in the construction of smart cities and smart environments. After some possible and future conflicts arising from the inadequate management of the technology, demonstrates, an initial hypothesis, means of promotion and orientation from the Law, indicating public policy as an alternative instrument to the rule creation. Whereas in the the process of action, implementation and evaluation of public policy, the social participation is essential, indicates effective ways of collaboration and social manifestation about the insertion of IoT. At the end, presents the recent Brazilian advances in conducting the theme, especially the elaboration of the National Plan of Internet of Things.Downloads
